Junior Business Intelligence Developer

Salary: Based on skills & experience

Due to expansion there is an entry-level vacancy for a Junior Business Intelligence Developer at McClure Solicitors based in our Glasgow office.

McClure Solicitors are a multi-award winning Law Firm with offices all around the UK and are looking for a Junior BI Developer to join their IT team.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Head of IT you will be primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of the firms BI capabilities whilst being heavily involved in the development of our Visualfiles case management systems. With the role expected to grow alongside you, you will also have the opportunity to learn and develop in several different skills such as SQL, SSRS, Progress OpenEdge, SQL Server Management Studio and Power BI. You will be required to analyse existing data structures and processes to ensure that the firm is making the most of the data that is available to it. You will also be involved in development projects that improve our case management system processes and reporting capabilities.

You

Whilst this role requires no formal experience; education in, or exposure to, Business Intelligence environments or relatable skills must be demonstrable. Any skills or experience in the following would be advantageous:

  • Visualfiles

  • Excel

  • SQL

  • SSRS

  • Power BI

  • OpenEdge Progress

Alongside this you should have excellent analytic and soft skills. Being able to communicate effectively is also essential as you will be working closely with team members and stakeholders throughout the business to gain and interpret requirements. A desire to learn is also essential as you will often be required to research new technologies and learn new skills.

Package

The role will be based in our city centre headquarters in Glasgow from 9am to 5pm. Salary will be based on your skills and experience. Any training required will be provided to you.

Solicitor Position

Salary: Competitive 

 

As a result of our continued expansion we are looking for a dynamic and confident solicitor to join our city centre office in Glasgow.

Applying candidates should ideally have:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Experience of working within a fast paced office environment.

  • The ability to work from a case management system without paper files

  • Strong attention to detail

  • The ability to work as part of a team

  • Relevant private client experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided

 

The role will include:

  • Handling the ongoing administrative aspects of Lifetime Discretionary Trusts

  • Communicating with clients and discretionary beneficiaries on a daily basis

  • Undertaking the administration following the death of a settlor including attending to distribution of Trust assets.

  • Advising on relevant tax implications during the course of the administration, particularly Inheritance Tax, Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax

  • Engaging with local authorities and other solicitors in relation to clients who have entered into residential care

  • Checking draft Wills and Powers of Attorney

  • Conducting new client appointments within the office

Wills Assistant

Salary: £18,000 p/a including additional staff benefits

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Assistant within our Glasgow office.

 

Working as part of our Wills and Power of Attorney team, you will truly add value by enabling our departments to deliver a high quality service to our clients.

Someone with previous legal experience would be beneficial; however, this is not essential. 

 

  • You must be confident and competent when preparing documentation with a keen eye for detail.

  • You will be involved in the preparation of legal documents on a day to day basis, delivering a 1st class service to all of our clients.

  • We are looking for someone who can operate with professionalism and expertise, as you will be liaising with clients via email and telephone.

  • You will be methodical, organised and flexible in your approach to work.

  • The salary for this position is £18,000 p/a with additional staff benefits.
