that if you have transferred your house to your children it may no longer be insured?

If you have transferred your house to your children it is their house, not yours.  It’s as if you had already sold it.  It’s therefore important that your insurance company is not only notified of the change of ownership but confirms that the cover is still valid.  Some insurance companies do this but some don’t.

This is too big a risk to take.  Expert assistance is required.  McClure Solicitors have substantial experience in this area, so why not give us a call.

By the way by transferring the house to a child who does not live in it, you have created a liability to Capital Gains Tax for your children.  We can usually fix that as well.
